As President of Highworth and District Lions Club, I attended our 53rd Charter Evening Dinner at Wrag Barn Golf Club.
It was a successful, friendly event: great food, conversation, music and dancing. We welcomed volunteers from our Charity Shop, plus incoming and outgoing District Governors, who gave inspiring speeches on our work and community role.
I announced another active year: we raised funds and supported local, national and international causes. I thanked members and volunteers, whose work lives up to our motto “We Serve”.
This memorable evening marked 53 years of service, fellowship and community spirit — a fitting celebration and inspiration for the future.
Great funds raised by the charity shop — thanks to its volunteers; it wouldn’t work without them. Relaxed evening, good company and food. Impressed by the Lions Club and how smoothly it runs.
