The Highworth and District Lions nominate Gloucester House for the Pride of Swindon awards

The Highworth and District Lion are pleased to have nominated Gloucester House for the Pride of Swindon awards. On March 5th , David Hazell of the Highworth and District Lions accompanied The Highworth Gloucester House team to the award ceremony which took place at the Double tree at Hilton Hotel in Swindon. Gloucester House were represented by Deborah Toomey (Service Manager), Maz Hyde (Gloucester House Lead) and Alan Baldwin (Chaplain) who as a team, accepted the winners award on behalf of the team and volunteers. It was for their extraordinary commitment in delivering structured addiction recovery programmes for men living with alcohol dependency, drug use, or behavioural addictions, helping them rebuild healthier and more meaningful lives.A comment from a resident of Gloucester House:“Since I’ve been at Gloucester House they’ve loved me back to life and I’ve had two distant thoughts about self-harm, but I’m dealing with it better because I feel cared for and in a better place. I now want to build strong relationships with my family and go back into work full-time.”Gloucester House is a residential rehabilitation facility in Highworth, Swindon, run by a dedicated team of people and funded by the Salvation Army.
